Jihaad Campbell spoke with the media following a dominant effort by him and the Alabama defense, which did not allow Missouri to score a single point throughout the game, resulting in an incredible 34-0 victory over the Tigers this past Saturday.

Campbell had four tackles and one sack in the Tide's overpowering victory over Missouri. The Alabama defense shone in this game, allowing only 239 yards, 167 of which came on the ground.

Alabama's junior linebacker praised his current teammate Tyler Booker, whom Campbell previously played with in high school at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Campbell stated that Booker could do it all and spoke about how the Tide's offensive lineman's "mindset is to always over achieve," which was very clear tonight with Alabama's offensive line opening up huge holes in Saturday's 34-point win over the Tigers, with the Tide picking up 271 rushing yards in the contest.

Campbell made a huge remark when asked if he is concerned about the squad being comfortable following an outstanding victory like Alabama's Saturday over Missouri. The veteran linebacker stated, "Complacency does not reside over here," adding that the Tide's goals heading into the bye week was to "get over the hump" and defeat the LSU Tigers. The junior linebacker noted that the Tide must "maintain the energy that we have right now," adding that the team is discovering new ways to win games.

When asked if the captains held any player-only meetings to discuss the recent issues, Campbell responded that he and his teammates are currently doing a good job of holding each other accountable in the moment and have a standard that everyone strives to meet.

Campbell concluded his post-game interview by crediting past great Alabama defensive players like Will Anderson and Dallas Turner. He mentioned how they taught him what it means to be a leader. Campbell emphasized the importance of "prepping like a pro," learning from both Anderson and Turner, who are first-round picks having impressive starts to their young careers.

Alabama will improve to 6-2 with Saturday's shutout victory, and the Tide will look to recover during their bye week before traveling to Baton Rouge to face the LSU Tigers in Death Valley on November 9th, 2024.
