4-star defensive lineman Hunter Osborne verbally committed to the Alabama in early August. On Wednesday, Osborne followed through with his commitment by signing his National Letter of Intent with the Crimson Tide.
The Trussville, Alabama native officially signed with the Crimson Tide on Wednesday.
Osborne received offers from several power five schools including Auburn, Clemson, Tennessee, Texas, and Georgia. Osborne finished his high school career with a whopping 147 tackles, 19 of those being for a loss of yards, 8 sacks, and 12 pass break ups. In the 2022 season alone, Osborne had 53 tackles, 7 tackles for losses, 2 sacks, 24 hurries, and 1 forced fumble. Osborne's contributions to Hewitt-Trussville High School helped the Huskies go 8-4 with a trip to the Alabama 7A state quarterfinals.
The 6-foot-3, 250 pound defensive standout is currently ranked as 247Sports's 12th best player in the state, as well as the country's 23rd best defensive lineman. Osborne was selected for the Under Armour All-America Game and the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game.
“I always had Alabama in the back of my head. This is a big opportunity, a big moment in my life. Alabama is home." Osborne stated when he committed to the Tide back in August.
Osborne officially visited Clemson, Auburn, Texas, and Tennessee during the summer of 2022. He committed to the Crimson Tide before his official visit to Tuscaloosa even began. Osborne attended camp in Tuscaloosa back in June and was recruited by the Tide's defensive line coach, Freddie Roach.
Recruiting analyst, Cooper Patagna described Osborne as somebody who, "Plays with good knee bend and flexibility, showing the ability to bend the edge. Sudden rusher, moves efficiency in his pass rush. Can win with speed, quickness, and power. Shows the ability to go speed to power at the point of attack, plays with a good understanding of leverage and body control. Closes space quickly and flashes excellent backside pursuit ability. Appears to have a good motor."
Osborne will certainly be an integral part of Alabama's defensive line in the coming seasons.
