Former Alabama Cornerback Avoids Significant Knee Injury
Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, former Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry avoided a severe knee injury Sunday during the New Orleans Saints preseason matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
McKinstry only played five snaps Sunday before exiting the game with an apparent knee injury after San Francisco wide receiver Trent Taylor rolled over McKinstry's leg.
With fellow defensive backs, Marshon Lattimore and Paulson Adebo both nursing injuries, positive news on McKinstry's health is a sigh of relief for New Orleans head coach Dennis Allen and defensive coordinator Joe Woods.
The New Orleans Saints remain optimistic that McKinstry will be available for the team's season opener against the Carolina Panthers and McKinstry's former Alabama teammate Bryce Young in New Orleans on September 8.
