TUSCALOOSA, AL. - The Crimson Tide defense has responded well after getting exploited by the Florida State Seminoles in week one. Alabama pitched a shutout against ULM in a 73-0 victory two weeks ago, and on Saturday, the Crimson Tide allowed just 14 points to the Wisconsin Badgers as Alabama rolled to another victory, 38-14.

However, if you ask one of the Crimson Tide's leaders in the secondary, the performance wasn't good enough. Alabama's defense held Wisconsin to just 209 total yards of offense and held the Badgers to less than 100 yards rushing. Bray Hubbard also collected two interceptions, ending Wisconsin drives when the Badgers had opportunities to score.

According to Hubbard, however, the 24-point victory wasn't good enough for the Alabama defense.

"The standard is zero points," Hubbard told the media after Saturday's victory. "At the end of the day, that's what we're chasing every week. That touchdown, we didn't want that touchdown to happen; we're all freaking mad about that. We gotta do our job, do our part.

"Coming out of half, we had the penalty on the touchdown, then the kickoff return. We can't have that. We gotta stay disciplined and locked in. It's 0-0 coming out of half, that's the way we look at it. That's how we gotta play. We gotta keep fighting.

Alabama's defensive performance was one that Crimson Tide fans had been waiting for. The Tide's front four had four sacks on the day, Hubbard had two interceptions, and Alabama tackled Wisconsin four times behind the line of scrimmage.

Since the Florida State game, Alabama has not faced a prolific offense. The defense has handled business against inferior competition, but the next test could easily be the biggest one of the season. After Alabama's bye week, the Crimson Tide will face the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens, Georgia, on September 27.

Georgia completed a comeback victory on Saturday, taking down the Tennessee Volunteers in overtime 44-41 to advance to 3-0 on the season.
