Alabama’s Players of the Week Following Georgia Win
The 24-hour rule is in effect, and the Alabama Crimson Tide is preparing to move away from the exhilarating 41-34 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs and look ahead to the Vanderbilt Commodores.
But before we turn the page to "Dandy Vandy," The Alabama Football staff released its "Players of the Week" following the era-defining win over the Georgia Bulldogs.
Jalen Milroe
Milroe cemented himself as the leader in the Heisman Trophy race in the win over Georgia. In this game, Milroe became the only player in AP Poll History to throw for 300 yards, rush for 100 yards, and account for two rushing touchdowns against a top-five opponent.
Ryan "Hollywood" Williams
The freshman can ball, y'all. On the biggest stage of his young career, Williams racked up 177 yards, including a tip drill to himself, and the best touchdown of the 2024 football season so far.
Parker Brailsford
You could really have given this award to the entire Alabama offensive front again. The offensive line did not allow a single sack in this game, and they paved the way for Milroe's spectacular showing, protecting him in pass pro and opening gaping lanes in the run game.
William Sanders
Alabama added a "scout" player of the week this season, and William Sanders likely acted as Georgia's offensive line due to his similar stature to several of the Bulldogs' best offensive linemen.
Jeremiah Alexander
Alexander was named the Special Teams Player of the Week, where he provided good containment and did not allow Georgia to make big plays in the third phase of the football game. Alexander had not yet played for Alabama this season due to an injury suffered in the Crimson Tide's second Fall scrimmage, but he made his mark in his first action this season.
Domani Jackson
Jackson has cemented himself as one of the best boundary cornerbacks in college football, locking down several big plays for Georgia that could have turned the Tide in this game. Jackson picked off Georgia quarterback Carson Beck in the first half,
Zabien Brown
The hero for Alabama in the final seconds of this football game. Brown picked off Georgia quarterback Carson Beck in the endzone on Georgia's final possession to seal the victory for the Crimson Tide. Brown had his freshman moments in this game, no doubt, but when Alabama needed a hero to seal the deal, the Deuce got Loose and made the play.
Qua Russaw
Russaw was dealing with an injury coming into this game, and his status was uncertain until Alabama's defense took the field. Russaw played in limited snaps, with veteran linebacker Que Robinson getting the start for the Crimson Tide, but Russaw's impact was felt every time he was on the field, especially when he forced a fumble from Georgia quarterback Carson Beck.
Jeremiah Beaman
Beamen replicated in practice the dominant defensive front Georgia had, earning himself scout team honors this week for the Crimson Tide.
Conner Warhurst
Warhurst earned scout team/special teams honors for Alabam in the week leading up to Georgia, providing help as a gunner in practice and scouting the stout Georgia secondary.
