Alabama Supreme Court Denies Charles Bediako Interim Injunction
On Friday, the Alabama Supreme Court unanimously denied Alabama basketball center Charles Bediako his request for an interim injunction pending his appeal in court. The Crimson Tide big man will miss Saturday's game against the Tennessee Volunteers after Bediako requested a ruling be made on his appeal by Friday afternoon.

Bediako originally filed a lawsuit against the NCAA in an effort to regain his final semester of collegiate eligibility under a preliminary injunction, and played in five games for head coach Nate Oats and Alabama men's basketball under a temporary restraining order. Bediako's case was heard by Tuscaloosa Circuit Court Judge Daniel Pruet on Friday, February 6. Pruet then denied Bediako's request for a preliminary injunction, making Bediako ineligible to play for the Crimson Tide, on February 9.
Earlier this week, on Monday, Bediako filed an appeal of Judge Pruet's ruling to the Alabama Supreme Court, while also filing a request for interim injunctive relief with Judge Pruet. Pruet denied Bediako's request on Tuesday morning. Had he approved it, Bediako would have been eligible to play for Alabama until his case was heard by the Alabama Supreme Court.
On Tuesday afternoon, Bediako filed an emergency motion for interim injunctive relief, pending his trial with the Alabama Supreme Court. The ASC denied the interim injunctive relief on Tuesday, meaning Bediako is still ineligible to play.
