The Georgia Bulldogs beat the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs 65-7 in the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday night.

The complete, one-sided domination has many saying that the Crimson Tide deserved to be put in instead of TCU.

And although the Horned Frogs proved to be a bad bet, the team deserved the spot more than Alabama.

The debate can continue on whether TCU is the real deal or barely got by, but the reality of the situation is that the Horned Frogs did exactly what they needed to do to have a successful season. A perfect 12-0 is difficult to come by regardless of how hard or easy the opponents are.

Plus, Alabama didn't look like the team to beat this season. Is the Crimson Tide one of the best four teams in the country? Absolutely. But, the team never proved themselves nor looked like the standard. Every game seemed to have a different group show up and putting the team in because of hope that the best version of this team would come out was too big of a gamble to take a chance on.

The team was inconsistent throughout the entire season, looked undisciplined, unmotivated, and like they could not care less about winning.

Yes, Alabama lost two games by a total of four points, one in overtime, but TCU lost one game that wasn't even on its schedule to begin with by three points in overtime.

Alabama controlled its own destiny and failed to capitalize. The Tide was two plays away from being undefeated but also three plays away from a 7-5 season. Even the "big wins" on the Tide's schedule looked rough.

TCU had five wins against opponents that were ranked at the time of the matchup versus Alabama's three. Looking at the big picture as of today, the Horned Frogs best wins in the regular season were No. 14 Kansas State and No. 25  Texas. Alabama's was No. 20 Mississippi State and No. 25 Texas.

Plus, TCU proved its worth in the semifinal game, defeating No. 2 Michigan 51-45. The national championship was not the first time the college football world saw the Horned Frogs play on a big stage. They beat an undefeated team on New Years Eve in the playoffs.

If you earn it, you deserve it and the Texas Christian Horned Frogs deserved its spot in the 2022 College Football Playoff regardless of the national championship score.
