Zach Bryan won't be receiving any Grammy Awards in 2025.

According to a report from Variety, the singer declined to submit his music for consideration at the upcoming awards show, in any category.

That news comes from the initial online ballot, which opened up to its first round of Grammy voters on Friday (Oct. 4) and is not visible to the general public.

It's unclear exactly why Bryan decided not to submit himself for consideration at the 2025 awards show. A source tells Variety that he "does not feel comfortable with awards shows making music competitive," suggesting that he may have withheld his music as a form of boycott or simply to keep his music separate from the nominations process.

The singer has previously talked about his discomfort with awards shows. Specifically, in 2022, he didn't receive any nominations at the CMA Awards, and his fans were upset over the snub.

He responded on X, saying, "Guys I don't and will never want to be considered at the CMA's [sic]. My pride is fine and I appreciate all the love and support and I say it with every ounce of respect to other country artists. Establishments will always be weird." (Quote via Billboard; Bryan's X account is currently deactivated.)

When one fan asked him if he believed CMA-nominated artists were only putting out music for the sake of receiving awards, Bryan said no, stating that those talented artists deserve to be recognized and celebrated at the show.

"And some just don't care enough about a silly TV program to need an award in the first place," he added.

What Could Zach Bryan Have Been Nominated for at the 2025 Grammys?

If he had submitted his work for consideration, Bryan would have likely been nominated at the Grammys in 2025. The eligibility period for the upcoming show includes work released between Sept.16, 2023-Aug. 30, 2024. His The Great American Bar Scene album came out on July 4 of this year, making it eligible for consideration in categories like Album of the Year, as well as potential inclusion in country, rock or Americana categories.

Additionally, the album's single "Pink Skies" would have been a likely candidate in Song and Single-specific categories. Released in May 2024, it reached No. 1 on the Billboard US Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart and No. 3 on the US Hot Country Songs chart, as well as No. 6 on the US Hot 100.

What Grammy Awards Has Zach Bryan Won?

Bryan earned his first Grammy nomination in 2023, and he's racked up four nominations in total to date across 2023 and 2024.

He won his first trophy at the 2024 Grammy Awards. His duet with Kacey Musgraves, "I Remember Everything," won Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

13 Country Stars Who Skipped the 2024 People's Choice Country Awards

The 2024 People's Choice Country Awards didn't feature most of the most-nominated artists. Shaboozey was there to perform and present, but Beyonce, Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves all stayed away.

Seven of the artists on this list of stars who skipped the PCCAs had very good reason to do so. The rest either had personal commitments, or simply chose to kick back in their PJs at home. Their absence explains why major awards were announced in one big batch at the end of the show.
