I20/59 Onramp Blocked on Skyland

The west bound onramp to Interstate 20/59 continues to be blocked from the aftermath of an overturned 18, wheeler early this afternoon. TPD and Tuscaloosa Fire/Rescue Units have been on the scene on Skyland Blvd. East/U.S.11 at the westbound I20/59 entrance ramp since just before 2:00 this afternoon. The accident is located at the U.S. 11 84.6 milepost.

Traffic is moving along Skyland Blvd. East, but motorists are still being urged to seek an alternate on-ramp to I20/59. Authorities on the scene have the 18-wheeler on its wheels but the clean-up of the roadway is continuing. Emergency units are still on-scene.

ALDOT ALGO has now updated the estimated time for the ramp to be clear for traffic to 10:15 this evening.
