Anyone who knows me knows I have an unnatural, uncontrollable love for a margarita! Well I’m in heaven today as it is National Margarita Day!

The Wikipedia definition of a margarita is: A Mexican cocktail consisting of tequila mixed with Cointreau or similar orange-flavored liqueur and lime or lemon juice, often served with salt on the glass rim. The drink is served shaken with ice, on the rocks, blended with ice (frozen margarita) or without ice (straight up).

My definition of a margarita is: Pure, divine, heavenly goodness!

I like the original lime flavor and prefer to have it frozen. And if you add in a little lime sherbet when making them, it adds a special creamy twist to this already fantastic concoction.

Celebrate today by making the margarita I love at home. Created by my wife, Mrs. Monk herself!

2 cans of Bacardi lime margarita mixer
1 cup of lime sherbet
2/3 bottle of Corona
2 cups of ice
1 cup (or more) of tequila!

Enjoy!
