The list of Alabama natives appearing and competing on televised singing competitions continues as Hoover native Jessie Pitts represents Team Blake and our great state!

After weeks of prerecorded blinds and battles, NBC's The Voice finally went live on Monday night, as the contestants making up Team Adam and Team Blake competed for spots in the top 12.

A graduate of Spain Park, Jessie Pitts joins American Idol winners Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard, Bo Bice, CJ Harris, Jesse Meuse, Paul McDonald, Diana Digarmo, Toia Jones, Shawna P., and others as Alabamians who have used their vocal talents to compete in front of a nationwide audience!

Blake Shelton said of Pitts,

Your voice is like a bowl of Lucky Charms – marshmallows only – when you start singing.

Pitts seemed to glow on Monday as she wowed the crowd and judges with her rendition of Bonnie Tyler's classic 'Holding Out for a Hero.'
