Good news for salon owners, stylists, and customers: the Alabama Department of Public Health has issued an updated order that offers additional clarification of how COVID-19 prevention practices impact these businesses.

The ADPH and Alabama Board of Cosmetology previously issued an order that said all stylists and customers had to maintain a six-foot distance between one another; however, the recent order states that the six-foot separation must be maintained between salon clients.

Lori Linn, owner and operator of Tuscaloosa salon Hair, Etc. posted the order she received on Facebook.

This is good news for many employers and employees in Tuscaloosa County. We'll continue to follow the story and bring you additional updates as they are made available.
