Will Arnett’s Netflix ‘Flaked’ Orders Another Round for Season 2

It looks for a moment as if Will Arnett’s Netflix sobriety dramedy Flaked might go down as one of the streaming service’s first one-and-done series, but consider the tab open. Flaked has officially confirmed a Season 2 renewal, keeping Arnett with a minimum of three major Netflix roles.

Where previously it had been said that Flaked was circling a six-episode Season 2 order to follow the inaugural season’s eight, the show’s own social media pages confirmed at least a vague renewal. The first season’s mixed critical reception notably took a toll on Arnett himself, who admitted to THR that his own struggle with sobriety had fallen off the wagon over the course of filming, just as his character’s had.

In addition to Arnett as Chip, the Mitch Hurwitz-produced series stars David Sullivan, Ruth Kearney, George Basil, Heather Graham, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Lina Esco, Sons of Anarchy alum Mark Boone Jr. and more. So reads the official synopsis:

Set in the insular world of Venice, California, Flaked centers on Chip, a celebrated self-appointed “guru” who falls for the object of his best friend’s fascination. Soon the tangled web of half-truths and semi-bullshit that underpins his all-important image and sobriety begins to unravel. Arnett plays Chip, a man doing his honest best to stay one step ahead of his own lies.

The series was created and written by Will Arnett and The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret alum Mark Chappell, with Ben Silverman, Peter Principato and Mitch Hurwitz serving as executive producers on the show.
