Wheelchair Basketball This Weekend
Friday and Saturday, February 22nd & 23rd, Foster Auditorium will be buzzing with the sound of the UA Men & Women’s Wheelchair Basketball teams as they host the Medical Direct Club Classic!
The Alabama Women will start the play off against Auburn at 9am Friday morning. The 19-5 Alabama Men play in their final conference tournament taking on UTA at 10:45am followed by a 12:30pm game against Auburn.
The big action starts at 6:30pm Friday when the UA Women takes on Whitewater. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawk’s women’s team arrives in Tuscaloosa as the defending National Champions so we could see a hoops battle of epic proportions during this bout given that the UA girls held that title from 2009-2011!
Then at 8pm, the action shifts to the men’s team also taking on Whitewater. In 2012, the Whitewater Men’s team won their second consecutive championship and third in four years, so it’s clearly going to be a night to remember in T-Town!
Saturday, the UA Women are back at Foster to play Whitewater again at 12:30pm with the Men taking on Whitewater at 2:15. The action wraps up with the Bama Women facing UTA at 6 followed by the Men’s matchup against UTA at 8.
