We Are The Crimson Tide

During the second year of Nick Saban's reign at Alabama, the program was still in the rebuilding phase. Hopes were high, but the team was still limping from the effects of probation and suffered their first loss of the season to Georgia.

Although Tide fans were patient while 'Bama's new head coach implemented The Process, the loss to the Bulldogs hurt more than expected.

In a moment of inspiration, I sat down in front of my computer the following morning and hammered out the poem 'We Are The Crimson Tide' in less than an hour. It wasn't until DD Hamric recorded the poem that the words came to life. At times, his growl is reminiscent of the Bear.

The year was 2007 and my video editing skills were still in their first blush. Looking back, the final product is a little rough. The music's too loud and the pictures offer an unusual perspective but I wouldn't dare change a thing.

A lot has changed since then , so on the eve of the SEC Championship Game, I invite you to take a look back at where we were then and the history we could make tomorrow.
