During one of my picking adventures, I came across some old mason jars of varying sizes and colors. They were coated in the thick film of dust that time leaves behind. I bought them, certain I would find some way to use them. For the past six months, I've shuffled them around while we completed our renovations.

As part of our remodel, we updated the pantry to include more open shelving. I wanted to incorporate the vintage mason jars but I didn't want to just stick flowers in them. I wanted them to be useful and serve a functional purpose.

Last week, I dug them back out, cleaned them up and set them on the counter hoping to generate some ideas. Yesterday, the light bulb finally switched on while I was cleaning out a box. I came across some small metal letters I'd purchased at Hobby Lobby to use on a project last year.

I grabbed my glue gun and went to work.

Not that it isn't obvious what the letters represent, but just for added clarity:

F = Flour
S = Sugar
C = Corn Starch
B = Brown Sugar

The idea isn't revolutionary by any means, but I love that the old jars have a purpose once again.
