On my way way to the pumpkin patch, I noticed a trailer with 'Catfish Charlies' emblazoned across the top located just past the red light Tuscaloosa County High on Hwy 43.

For the next several days, I started longingly at the restaurant each time I passed by, jealous of the activity I saw in the parking lot. Instinctively, I knew the food would be amazing.

By week's end, I couldn't stand it anymore and I told Perry we were eating take out from Catfish Charlies for dinner. He suggested I get four different plates and we would sample them all. I'm glad I took his advice.

I ordered four large plates of fried catfish, fried shrimp, boiled shrimp and crab cakes with Crawfish Julie sauce. My plate looked like this:

Without a doubt, some of the best seafood and catfish you'll find county wide. You can call ahead and pick up or place your order at the window and wait a few.

I don't know how I went so long without knowing about Catfish Charlies but as busy as they've been each time I passed by, I'm one of the few and if you're like me, do yourself a favor and put Catfish Charlies on your radar.
