U Of A Student Tragically Killed In Car Wreck

A University Of Alabama Student died Thursday Afternoon as a result of injuries suffered in a fatal accident on Alabama Highway 69.

State troopers have identified the victim as 19-year-old James Mason Berry of Jasper.

According to Senior Trooper Johnathan Appling, Berry was killed when his 1999 Toyota 4Runner collided with a 2007 Peterbilt truck and a 2015 Freightliner truck around 2:30 Thursday afternoon. The three vehicle crash occurred near mile marker 162, approximately 8 miles north of Northport.
