Grammy nominee and Dove Award winner Ty Herndon will play at a show in Birmingham this weekend benefiting the Kevin Turner Foundation and Wise Up! Initiative.

The inaugural Hops & Heads Hullabaloo event will be held at Good People Brewing Company on 14th Street, just across from Regions Field from 2 pm-10 pm Saturday, July 25th.

Attendees will learn about concussions in a fun festival atmosphere with games & prizes, food trucks, silent auction and live entertainment by Multi-Platinum artist Ty Herndon who will have some help from Amber Hayes, Tyler Barham, and more!

The first of the two benefiting charities is Kevin Turner Foundation. Named for the former star fullback who played for Alabama and spent eight seasons in the NFL with the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.

In May 2010, Kevin was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) also referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease. Kevin is now involved in research that links chronic traumatic encephalopathy ("CTE" i.e. repeated brain trauma) in athletes to ALS, and through The Kevin Turner Foundation, he is raising awareness about these issues.

The second charity is Wise Up! Initiative whose purpose is to educate the public about the dangers of traumatic brain injury and the risks associated with concussive head trauma.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $15 and includes 1 drink ticket. Ticket prices increase to $20 at the door Saturday. A $50 VIP ticket is also available.
