Downtown Tuscaloosa will transform into an entertainment district on Saturday as part of Temerson Square's 'Second Saturday's' event throughout the summer. From 2-8 PM on June 11, residents and patrons can walk around a designated area of downtown with open alcohol containers and not have to worry about a penalty.

The idea was created earlier this year with the hope that it would drive more activity throughout downtown and provide opportunities for more outdoor events. The first entertainment district successfully debuted at the Druid City Arts Festival in April.

Since then, the businesses at Temerson Square have rolled up a summer series on the second Saturday of each month. It began in May and will continue through August. As you can see on The Avenue Pub's flyer below, the event will have beers to-go from the bars, food available, and live music in the street.

The more support the event gets, the better chance the entertainment district will become more common in downtown Tuscaloosa.
