Tuscaloosa Police Seeking Suspect in Beating

During a fight at University Village Apartments in Tuscaloosa Monday night, a victim was impaled by an iron fence post and beaten with a bat.

Authorities are seeking 27 year old Marshall Davenport who witnesses say got into a fight with an unidentified man. The victim slipped away from the scuffle and ran, attempting to jump a pool fence but failed, partially impaling himself. Davenport then began beating the unidentified party with a bat.

Davenport fled the scene and authorities have issued a warrant for his arrest.

The victim was transported to DCH Regional Medical center for treatment.
