Tuscaloosa Musician Shot in Birmingham

Musician Ronnie Lee Gipson, known for being a member of several well known bands in Tuscaloosa was shot on Wednesday night in Birmingham while leaving a show.

Gipson has lent his skills to bands like Nekronomikids, Original Shake Charmers, Black Willis, Model Citizen, The Crown Imps, Bad Cologne, The Golden Monica, and more. According to Birmingham Police, Gipson was shot in the back in an attempted robbery as he and his girlfriend were leaving a show at Saturn, in front of design and print studio Yellowhammer Creative. 

The versatile, go-to musician is expected to recover but friends quickly started up a GoFundMe page to help pay for his medical bills. A post on the fundraising page states that Gipson has a day job and plays music at night but is without insurance.
