On Tuesday, the Tuscaloosa City Council postponed the a vote on whether to let food truck vendors operate on private property within 100 feet of downtown Tuscaloosa restaurants.

Currently, food trucks are allowed to operate in Tuscaloosa provided their locations are approved by the city's Zoning Board of Adjustments.

The Tuscaloosa News reports the delay comes after four-weeks of delays for council members to consider the public's opinion of allowing food trucks to operate within the city's Downtown Riverfront Overlay District which currently does not allow food trucks.

Two food truck zones was proposed by Councilman Matt Calderone on the site of the Mildred Westervelt Warner Transportation Museum and south of the city's Intermodal Facility and parking deck.

The city council is expected to vote on food trucks in two weeks.
