With temperatures rising above freezing for just a few hours on Tuesday, Alabama softball's game with UAB has been canceled.

The schools decided Monday night to take preventive measures with another frigid night in the forecast for central Alabama. Temperatures are expected to be right at 32 degrees for the scheduled first pitch and dropping into the 20s as the night progresses. Lows are predicted to reach 22 degrees in Birmingham on Tuesday night.

The game has not been rescheduled at this time, and there's no guarantee that it will. The two teams are set to play their second game in Tuscaloosa on March 10.

Alabama will play at home in Rhoads Stadium for the first time this season when the team hosts the Bama Bash this weekend. Michigan, James Madison, and Lipscomb are all in town for the three-day tournament.
