Toddler Dies In Fire With Dog Huddled At His Side

Man's best friend. The loyalty of a dog often leaves me thinking we humans could learn a thing or two from our furry friends. This story will leave you with tears in your eyes.

Friday night about 1130 a fire broke out in a neighborhood home in Spokane Washington. Three kids & two adults escaped. A toddler holding his teddy bear died in the fire.

Authorities found the body of the family dog cuddled next to the toddler. They believe the dog stayed behind trying to protect the boy.

The battery in the home's smoke detector had been removed & not replaced.
