'May the 4th be with you,' is how Just-A-Buck-Justin greeted me this morning when I asked why he was wearing a Darth Vader tie with his customary t-shirt. Evidently, it's 'Star Wars' day which is a holiday hardcore fans take very seriously.

The official story endorsed by Lucas films claims the phrase was first used on May 4, 1979, when Margaret Thatcher took office as UK prime minister. The Conservative party allegedly placed an ad in the London Evening News which read, "May the Fourth Be With You, Maggie. Congratulations."

With social media on the scene, the holiday has become an even bigger deal that diehard fans are determined the rest of the world take just as serious as they do.
