Time Magazine Accused of ‘Fat Shaming’

This week's edition of TIME magazine will hit the shelves today featuring New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie along with a caption stating his rumored bid for the Presidential Office 'the Elephant In The Room for folks. Reaction to the cover was swift and Twitter feeds were filled with outrage from both sides of the aisle.

Governor Christie has spoke openly about his struggle to control his weight and earlier this year underwent lap-band surgery. While running for office in 2009, he issued a challenge to his opponent to 'man up and say I'm fat' after Jon Corzine attempted to make Christie's weight an issue without actually saying weight was an issue. He also promised Corzine he would be a 'big fat winner' on election day and he was.

Did TIME Magazine go to far or were they simply using a common euphemism for the multitude of issues Christie will face if rumors of his presidential run are true?
