Tim McGraw's newest single, “Humble and Kind,” offers sound advice for parents experiencing the simultaneous joy and anguish of sending their adult children into the world, and soon, the touching single will be a book.

Hachette Books tells the Associated Press that a “bound edition” of “Humble and Kind,” released as a single in January, will hit shelves on May 17. According to the publisher, the book will pair songwriter Lori McKenna’s lyrics with “elegant line illustrations” to create a “gift book for all seasons.”

“Inspired by McGraw's own life experience as his eldest child embarked on her college career, every parent and graduate can relate to Humble and Kind," the book’s description on Amazon reads. "With tender clarity, the words reinforce lessons for mindful, compassionate living.”

McGraw, who notes that the song "just needed to be heard," has penned an introduction to the book, while McKenna has written an epilogue. Proceeds from Humble and Kind will benefit the Neighbor's Keeper Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, a charitable fund founded by McGraw and his wife, Faith Hill, that provides donations to community projects across the state.

Humble and Kind is now available for pre-order via Amazon. On April 3, McGraw will perform "Humble and Kind" at the 2016 ACM Awards; through Friday (March 25), the singer is asking for fan submissions to be part of his performance.
