I'm not a big beer drinker, but if I have one it's most likely from a bottle. I'm not sure why I enjoy bottled beer over canned booze, but according to Thrillist.com, beer is supposedly better in cans. Although, this 'study' didn't just base it on how the beer tastes.

Here are the three main reasons cans trump beer, per Thrillist (With my thoughts in BOLD):

1.  Cans weigh less, so they're more convenient.  A six-pack weighs about five pounds, compared to seven-and-a-half pounds with bottles.  So when you take your recycling out, the bag will weigh two-and-a-half pounds less if you buy cans.

(My thoughts: Who really cares if your recycling is a couple pounds lighter? If you're drinking enough beer to make that much of a difference, you probably need the arm workout carrying the recyclables)

2.  Beer doesn't last as long in a bottle.  Brown beer bottles block out 99% of the light they're exposed to.  But if they sit on the shelf for a while, that 1% can mess with the taste a little bit.  And aluminum cans block out 100% of the light rays.

(My thoughts: Who lets beer sit on the shelf for 'awhile?' Bottoms up!)

3.  Cans are better for the environment.  They're a little easier to recycle.  And since they weigh less, they're cheaper to ship.  So it takes less gas to get them from point A to point B, which means less carbon-dioxide being pumped into the atmosphere.

(My thoughts: Okay. I'll always support the environment!)

I think it's best if we ask the "beer expert" Monk about whether this these three reasons are enough to drink canned beer over bottled beer.
