The Virgin Mary

Being the celebrity that she is, most would assume that the Virgin Mary would expose herself to a much larger crowd when she drops in for a visit. Instead, throughout the years, this historical figure has become quite a superstar in the small town of Sterrett, Alabama.

In 1988, Marija Lunetti arrived in Alabama to donate a kidney to her brother. She claims that the Virgin Mary appeared before her on a the farm where she was staying. Word got out and after a while, the people of Sterrett began dropping by in hopes of witnessing another debut from Jesus's mother.

Every view years, Lunetti returns to visit this same farm, insisting that Mary materializes each time. The crowd continues to grow and in 2004, thousands showed up from all over the world as a pilgrimage, taking over the tiny town. There have even been reports of onlookers being healed by this adventure. With a population of about 800, who knew Sterrett would become such a big tourist attraction?
