This past Saturday, runners, walkers, zombies and zombie lovers converged on Kentuck Park for the inaugural Bama Zombie Dash!

The threat of rain wasn't enough to keep over 100 runners and 25 zombies from participating in this almost 3 mile run. The 5pm start went off without a hitch but about 15 minutes in Mother Nature sent a nice solid drizzle over the runners. Most participants, at that point, seemed relived as the temperature prior to the rain had hit the upper 70s.

The object was to race through several hordes of zombies without the creatures pulling one of three flags from the runner's shirts. Unfortunately, no one crossed the finish line with all their flags but Marine recruiter Shelton McCartney and a friend shared the $100 prize money as both came through the finish line leading the race at the same time.
