Tim Cigelske, better know online as 'The Beer Runner' has decided to end his streak of consecutive days running at least one mile and drinking at least one beer.

The three year stint started on his 29th birthday and went strong until last Thursday, October 3rd. That was the day his co-workers along with the Milwaukee Brewing Company got together to toast the end to an impressive accomplishment. The numbers boil down to something like 5,300 miles and more than 2,000 beers! As of Friday, October 4th, the long run is over.

He recently said in an recent article with Runner's World Magazine,

I don’t know what’s next yet but now, I want to branch out and explore different types of challenges. Maybe it’s home brewing or completing an ultra marathon. Or maybe it’s just getting back to basics.

The Beer Runner even had me on a kick to start the same streak around the first of the year, only mine lasted a total of 33 days. The quick end came on the day I met my wife after work at a local Mexican Restaurant. I had not ran that morning because temperatures were in the teens and after 2 margaritas, I found it virtually impossible to go home after and run for any distance. So goes my feeble attempt.
