Game of Thrones fans have at least another year before HBO brings the saga to a close, but the end has already come for many involved. Case in point, network bosses tease that a recent finale reading had cast member after cast member “falling down to their deaths.”
Reporters claiming Game of Thrones’ final season will premiere in April 2019 have officially made Arya’s list. Star Maisie Williams says recent comments about the 2019 premiere landing in spring were “completely false,” and taken out of context from an earlier interview.
Because what better time than a winter storm for ominous Game of Thrones news? That dreadful day has finally arrived, as HBO confirms the eighth and final season will sit out 2018 altogether, finishing its adapted Song of Ice and Fire in 2019.
Game of Thrones will take more precaution than ever with the secrecy of its final episodes; apparently even from actors. If you believe star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the Game of Thrones cast won’t even receive Season 8 scripts before filming the actual scenes.
The final six Game of Thrones episodes are no time to skimp – whether on budget or story – and it seems HBO is going all-out. Reports estimate that Season 8 episodes might cost around $15 million (each!), if not more.
