Sturgill Simpson helped bring a little country and soul to music's biggest night with his performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

Simpson delivered a soulful performance of "All Around You" off his critically-aclaimed album A Sailor's Guide to Earth. Blending his Americana soul and country twang, Simpson delivered a solid rendition of the track. With a guitar in hand and a band of saxophones and trumpets to match, Simpson rocked the Grammys stage with his strong vocals in a performance that was complete with a saxophone solo.

Country legend Dwight Yoakam introduced the star, noting his talent that "brilliantly crosses music genres" after a quote from Duke Ellington saying, "There are two types of music: The good kind and the other kind."

Simpson took home his first Grammy Award for Best Country Album for his latest project, A Sailor's Guide to Earth, at the 59th annual ceremony. He beat out fellow nominees in the category Brandy Clark, Maren MorrisLoretta Lynn and Keith Urban. The Americana star was also up for the coveted Album of the Year award, where he faced off against powerhouse vocalist Adele, nominated for her blockbuster album 25, Beyonce's Lemonade, Purpose by Justin Bieber and Views from Drake.

Kelsea Ballerini, Morris, Urban, Carrie Underwood and Little Big Town also took the stage at the star-studded show.
