Although ghosts usually have a nasty reputation, some can be rather polite.

The Tinker Place in Greensboro, Alabama was built in 1835 for an elegant woman by the name of Susian Truman Tinker. She was known for throwing extravagant parties in her home and contributing much of her cultural knowledge to the small town. When Tinker died, the community was distraught. Perhaps this is the reason she stuck around.

To this day, Tinker occupies her humble abode. There have been reports of a woman in gray warming her hands in the fireplace and turning lights on upon request. She is also notorious for materializing if someone happens to look her in the eye. This may be daunting to some but, rumor has it, she always has a courteous smile on her face.
