The Red Mountain Park has put Birmingham on the map by making it one of the "greenest" cities in the U.S. based on public park space per resident.

Although this project has been processing for quite sometime, the park would not have been possible if it weren't for the 1,200 acre donation made by U.S. Steel. The grounds stretch over four-and-a-half miles between Homewood and Bessemer. Throughout the area, visitors can enjoy 12 miles of hiking and biking trails, zip-line excursions, and three historic iron ore mines.

The park is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information visit the official website below!
