Although the owners of the Berman Museum of World History are well known for their collection of treasures, the way in which the couple met is what really intrigues onlookers.

Colonel Farley and Germaine Berman met each other in North Africa during World War II. Colonel Farley was a member of the U.S. Intelligence and Germaine was a spy for the French Intelligence. After realizing their affection for each other, the two settled their differences and moved to Anniston, Alabama.

Because Colonel Farley was so fascinated with the souvenirs he brought home from the war, he began collecting more and more intriguing objects. Over the next seventy years, the Berman's accumulated over 6,000 pieces which included bronze paintings, and weaponry. The museum even includes a display of Adolf Hitler's tea set and is still up and running today.
