Steele Orchard — Strange Alabama

Family owned and operated since 1985, Steele Orchard is located in the old German town of Cullman. A fruit farm of apple, peach, and plum trees surrounds a gift shop that offers homemade jams, jellies and apple butter. There's also the bakery that gave birth to Steele's famous Southern Fried pies and offers other delicious delectables such as apple cakes, deep dish apple and peach pies, candied and caramel apples, and homemade peach ice cream just to name a few.

Fresh hand picked fruit is available for purchase but you better enjoy making difficult choices. The orchard boats over 20 varieties of apples and 6 different varieties of peaches.

On Labor day weekend, you'll find fruit from the Steele Orchard at the 'sweet tater' festival held each year that includes car shows, continuous entertainment, food, vendors and you guessed it...sweet tators.
