I was driving through Vestavia on Tuesday when I noticed an odd tree in the horizon. I'm assuming the giant metal pine tree (?) is supposed to make the communication tower less visually invasive but I'm not sure that objective was achieved.

Stealth Concealment is one company that specializes in making wireless antennas disappear and they do that using more than trees as camo. Using water towers, flag poles, silos and even church steeples, they make the equipment necessary to fuel our appetite for wi-fi simply fade into the landscape or disappear all together.

I like the idea of not cluttering up the horizon with bulky poles and cumbersome wires but this just feels a little Trojan Horse-esqe to me. I almost think a tower in all it's cement glory would have been less noticeable than this pitiful excuse for a tree.

Have you noticed any attempts at tower concealment around Tuscaloosa?
