Standoff in Tuscaloosa Continues, Man Shoots Wife and Grandson

Tuscaloosa Police have been on the scene of a shooting and standoff at 20th Avenue East since around 1pm today.  It's believed that a Tuscaloosa man shot his wife, and grandson and then barricaded himself inside a house.

Right now, 12 Tuscaloosa Swat team members are on the porch of the house and a negotiator is on the phone with the shooter inside.  Tuscaloosa Police currently has a massive perimeter around the house of about 1/4 mile.

Police say the victims are being treated at DCH but authorities have not released any information about the extent of their injuries.  The scene is located off Jug Factory road and is considered a "devastating event."  It's very hot outside and our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, the first responders and those involved.  Listen for more updates on 953 The Bear every 10 minutes.
