The time has come for you to look at your microwave as something more than a pop corn popper. Did you know you can scramble eggs in your microwave? Make rice? I bet you didn't realize you could even wash your socks. Below are a few ways to make your microwave earn rent.

1. Revive Dried Mascara

Remove the wand,  place tube in the microwave next to a cup of water then heat on high for :30 or :40 seconds. Voila! Two more weeks of use.

2. Dye Clothes

Take a bowl of cold water, add dye and stir. Add material then put bowl in large Ziplock freezer bag then microwave on high for 4:00 minutes. Remove and rinse the fabric in cold water and allow to air dry away from natural sunlight. Another trick is to put your car keys in the ignition, place car in reverse, then place car in drive and continue for several minutes until you see a giant store with lots of cars in the parking lot. Remove your keys, walk inside, grab a package of new shirts, walk to register and pay, then return home.

3. Remove chewing gum from clothes

Warm a small cup of vinegar in the microwave for about 1:00, then dab liquid onto gum with a clean cloth. The gum will easily peel off.

4. Unpeel Old Stamps

Sprinkle a few drops of water on to the stamp and heat in the microwave for 20 seconds.

5. Revive Stale Chips, Crackers and Cereal

Put a plateful in the microwave for 30 seconds and let stand for one minute. Or throw away and buy new ones next time you buy groceries at Walmart.

6. Wash Your Socks

Put socks in a large bowl of soapy water for ten minutes on high. Then accept the face

7. Make A Giant Marshmallow

Put a marshmallow in the microwave and heat for no more than a minute and stand in amazement as the marshmallow expands up to 30 times its normal size. Don't leave it in there more than a minute or you'll have up to 30 times the worst day ever.
