Showers and thunderstorms are possible across the state today, some of which could be severe. 

The National Weather Service in Birmingham's latest forecast includes a 100% chance of rain. Up to 3/4 inch of rain is possible today along with wind gusts of up to 30 miles per hour. Storms could bring damaging wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour along with isolated tornadoes and up to quarter-size hail.

Most of the state has been placed in a marginal risk area for today's storms, with a greater chance for tornadoes south of Interstate 20/59. A Flood Watch continues through early Friday morning.
