Cobb Hollywood 16 Theatre and IMAX will roll out the red carpet for a movie mixing faith, fights and romance and featuring two American Christian Academy grads.

Authentic fight scenes and local Tuscaloosa haunts take center stage in ‘The Fight Within,’ a limited release from GVN Releasing.

The film’s stars, John Major Davis and Matt Leddo, attended high school together at American Christian Academy and even played on the same football team. But they barely knew one another and rarely spoke. Now after months of training together for the film’s fight scenes, the two have become fast friends.

John Major Davis makes his feature film debut with a starring role in The Fight Within. After playing sports in high school and college, Davis followed his dream of acting to Los Angeles and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He also trained at the New York Film Academy-LA, Margie Haber Studio and Anthony Meindl’s Actor Workshop.

Prior to landing a featured role in The Fight Within, Matt Leddo graduated from the University of Alabama and his film credits include SOLACE, which starred Anthony Hopkins and Colin Farrell, and the TV series Homicide Hunter: Lt. Joe Kenda.

The Fight Within delivers bare-knuckles mixed martial arts action--not for the squeamish, definitely a non-traditional faith film, which suits the film’s creator. Too many faith films limit themselves to faith audiences, Screenwriter/Executive Producer Jim Davis says that The Fight Within, a story about the vital necessity of knowing God, also tells of a young man’s search for identity.

The red carpet world premier of ‘The Fight Within’ will take place at Cobb Hollywood 16 Theatre and IMAX on Thursday, August 11th.
