25 years ago, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and country legend Randy Owen established ‘Country Cares for St. Jude Kids’ in an effort to bring together country music and radio to raise funds.
To date ‘Country Cares’ and the over 200 radio stations have raised more than $500,000,000.00 for St. Jude!
Each January, a group of over 1,000 radio professionals converge on Memphis for the 'Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radio Seminar.' 3 days are spent sharing ideas and learning everything possible about the hospital and the work the scientists and doctors are doing to bring cancer survival rates up. Everyone then returns with their notes and information gathered to their radio markets and turn what we learn into much needed funds for St. Jude.

For me, it’s been the opportunity of a lifetime. Not only have forged great friendships but I’ve been personally touched by the children of St. Jude and the wonders that go on within its walls.

Artists who participated this year included: Rascal Flatts, Brantley Gilbert, Kellie Pickler, Rodney Atkins, Sara Evans, Randy Owen, Eli Young Band, Scotty McCreery, Jerrod Niemann, Dan + Shay, Danielle Bradbery, The Cadillac Three, Austin Webb, Dylan Scott, Kristy Lee Cook, Blackjack Billy, Krystal Keith, Brothers Osborne, John King, Dean Alexander, American Young, Lucy Hale, The Swon Brothers, Jackie Lee, Leah Turner and an honorable mention goes to Katie Armiger who was unable to attend due to illness.

According to Country Cares website, “The daily operating cost for St. Jude is $1.9 million, which is primarily covered by public contributions. During the past five years, 81 cents of every dollar received has supported the research and treatment at St. Jude.”

Here's a photo recap of some of the artists I met while in Memphis last week. Each has given their time to help raise awareness of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
