Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is making a stop in Alabama on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a guest at a Birmingham rally.

Being billed as, "Birmingham Future to Believe In," will serve as the presidential hopeful's first visit to our state. Bernie Sanders will be joined by former Ohio Sen. Nina Turner and noted author and activist Cornel West. The program will discuss the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. in Birmingham.

The Monday event is happening at the historic Boutwell Auditorium with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the program will begin at 7 p.m. It's free and open to the public. Tickets are not required, but an RSVP is strongly encouraged. Admission is first come, first served.
