There was no way around it: Sunday (Sept. 25), the second day of the 2016 Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival, was H-O-T. And there was little shade to be found around Franklin, Tenn.'s Park at Harlinsdale, where the event takes place. But Day 2 of the second annual festival was the day to be there for country and Americana fans, and those who persevered were rewarded with sets from Jason Isbell, Kacey Musgraves and more.

Those who arrived early entered Pilgrimage to the sounds of country/Americana trio Maybe April and singer-songwriter Alyssa Bonagura, both of whom played the ASCAP Shady Grove stage before noon. Anderson East's soulful voice echoed from the main Frye Midnight Sun stage in the early afternoon -- and especially eagle-eyed fans may have event seen girlfriend Miranda Lambert watching from backstage.

Over on the George Dickel Kimbro's Harpeth River stage, the crowds were small but dedicated for Brothers Osborne and Langhorn Slim & the Law's sets. John and TJ Osborne not only covered "Goodbye Earl" and "Whiskey River," they also performed a new tune, "Weed, Whiskey and Willie," while Langhorn Slim hopped offstage to get up close and personal with his audience.

"I mighta stayed home if I were you," the artist told the crowd early on in his set, referencing the heat, later adding, "Okay, let's sweat together."

Margo Price, Musgraves and Isbell rounded out the day before Daryl Hall & John Oates officially closed the second year of Pilgrimage. Readers can flip through the photo gallery above to see more from the festival, and stay up to date on plans for 2017 on PilgrimageFestival.com.
