Pickens Co Woman Found Dead

Christy Lynn Cook, 39, of Pickens County found dead in a Jefferson County home, her boyfriend Anthony Gene McClellan has been charged with capital murder and first-degree burglary.

Police discovered her body when a man found her in his bedroom. That homeowner told authorities he had been out of town for several days and did not know the woman according to WBRC News.

Christy Lynn Cook, 39, of Pickens County had been reported missing to the Pickens County Sheriff's Department for about a week.

Anthony Gene McClellan was found on Highway 11 near Attalla/Gadsden, AL. He told police that Christy Lynn Cook had drove them to a home he had never seen before. He said the 2 broke inside and he accidentally shot the victim, Christy Lynn Cook twice.
