Songwriter Hope Cassity has helped to raise countless funds for local charities with the ‘Tips for Tuscaloosa’ songwriter’s concert and Saturday we gave back to Hope.

About 8 years ago her father, Joe Daniels, was a liver transplant patient recipient. For around the past year and a half the condition of his organs began deteriorating from the anti-rejection medication and the strain of the transplant on his body. Joe has had dozens of surgeries and hundreds of procedures to prep him for the possibility of another transplantation.

Recently, the doctors updated the family with some really difficult news…he is nearing a fork in the road. He will no longer be eligible for transplant at UAB because they do not handle cases as complex as his and he is nearing the end of his life without a transplant.  After almost 9 years of major medical bills Joe is no longer able to keep afloat or pay for continuing this process.

Friends and fellow songwriters came to the rescue this past Saturday and held “A Night of Hope” concert at Eat My Beats! The night’s entertainment will included performances from Sweet Tea Trio, Cottonbox Road, Jordan Elliott, McCay Harrison, and Christopher Gladden!

Here is a photo recap of the night thanks to Eat My Beats!

The family has set up a GiveForward account if you’d like to make a private online donation.
