Pete Fiutak Says Alabama Preparing for Post-Saban Era with Sarkisian Hire [AUDIO]

Alabama's recent hire of Steve Sarkisian as an offensive analyst on Nick Saban's staff stirred up speculation that he could eventually take over the offense if Lane Kiffin moves on to another head coaching position.

Pete Fiutak of CollegeFootballNews.com and Campus Insiders actually sees it very differently. He joined The Game on Wednesday to discuss week one of college football and gave us a surpising opinion on the Sarkisian hire.

"I think they're setting up for the post-Saban era," Fiutak told host Ryan Fowler. "My first initial thought is there you go. Saban is old. He's not going to hang around there for forever."

Fiutak also argued that Saban's time at Alabama might not come to an end with retirement. He thinks the NFL could make one more push for the Crimson Tide head coach and wouldn't be surprised if he entertained the idea.

"I still think that someone is going to say at some point, Cleveland Browns, whoever it might be, 'Hey Saban give this one more shot,'" Fiutak said. "And at some point i think it's going to be, 'Yeah what else can I do here with this gig.'"

Whether or not Saban actually leaves for another coaching job - and we know there's more than enough speculation during his 10 years at Alabama - the Crimson Tide will eventually have to replace him. Fiutak pointed out that having two top head coaching prospects in the building could potentially make a transition easier.

"The whole point is that you've got another coach there so you have everything set up if Nick Saban somehow, in the next 25 years, decides he's not going to be the head coach at Alabama."
