This Father's Day, the boys and I surprised my husband Perry with a new iPad. He was still using a 1st Gen iPad and I thought the time for a higher resolution had arrived.

We spent the weekend at our pond house and of course Perry took his new iPad so he could continue playing unlimited games of Chess online. When we returned home on Sunday afternoon and finished unpacking, he realized it was missing and assumed he'd left it behind.

"I remember sitting on the couch with it before I put it down to look something up on my laptop,' I told him after he said he'd return the next day to pick it up.

Monday arrived and the events leading up to the missing iPad's discovery are chronicled here in this actual text exchange between us:

I'm familiar with Perry's past search and recovery attempts so as soon as I unlocked the door to the pond house, I began videoing as I made my way to where I suspected I would find the iPad.  Thankfully, I listened to my gut and captured this:

Later that afternoon, Perry asked if I'd found it. Instead of replying with text, I sent him the above video which you can see pictured in this screenshot of our exchange below:

He still alleges that I staged the 0:16 video because obviously, I was eager to waste even more time of my life attempting to locate the lost iPad.
